This is a reminder that we are only 2 weeks away from the seminar on the 31st. This one should be very helpful and interesting. If at all possible, please sign up by Wednesday the 29th at the latest so we know how many people to prepare for, but the sooner the better. Sign up 2 ways, either email me at the link below or sign up at the library. Thanks - Richard Kyle

The time is now here to start sign-ups for our July seminar. The seminar this summer will be on Friday night, July 31st, at 6 p.m. at the YVGS library. It should last until about 8:30. The two 1 hour+ lectures this year should prove to be very interesting and very helpful for your research. This seminar we are going to cover:

1. Artificial Intelligence - The first half hour will cover what it is. What it will and won't do. How it works. How it saves data. A lot of samples of how to use it. The second half hour will cover how to use AI for genealogical research with examples. This presentation should be extremely helpful with giving you a basic understanding of this very valuable new tool on the internet.

2. You May Be Doing Your Genealogical Research All Wrong - We will take an hour to present a very standard way to do genealogical research that should produce results consistently and help you to find your ancestry. We will cover research planning and execution leaning very heavily on how to use the records in Family Search. This presentation should help you be in a position to never again have to ask "Where do I look next?" Also by the end of this lecture, you should be able to navigate Family Search with greater results.

Each lecture should last from 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. We will have a short 20 break between lectures when will draw for door prizes and offer light refreshments. There is no charge for this seminar, but as in the past, we will accept donations at the door to help cover the cost of handouts and desert (the average donation we have been receiving has been $5.00). There are two ways to signup   1. by the end of this week there will be a signup sheet on the librarian's desk at the library for you to use  2. You can email Richard Kyle at rkyle98902@charter.net to sign up. If possible, please sign up by Tuesday the 28th so we can make sure we have enough desert and handouts for everyone. Even if you don't sign up or find you can come at the last minute, you are still welcome to attend. Hopefully this will be one of the more fun, productive and interesting seminars we have given

In case you don't know, the mini seminar will be held at the Yakima Valley Genealogical Society Library at 1901 S 12th Avenue in Union Gap, WA.
