This will be an audience participation presentation.
In honor of the hardworking men and women who came before us, we invite you to highlight one of your ancestors and share an interesting – or perhaps not-so-interesting – occupation or profession they held. According to one genealogical website, knowledge of an ancestor’s occupation “adds color and depth to his or her life. The more you understand your ancestor and his or her life choices, the more clues you can extract from records for future research.”
Be prepared to give a brief (approximately three to five minute) presentation about your ancestor’s occupation, including a description of what they did, any notable achievements, and any objects or artifacts associated with them. If possible, bring photographs or documentation to share with the group.
