SUMMER MINI-SEMINAR
FRIDAY, JULY 18, 2025, 6:00 P.M. TO ABOUT 8:30 P.M.
WEBSITES AND RESOURCES YOU SHOULD BE USING, BUT PROBABLY AREN’T
PRESENTER: RICHARD KYLE
The first hour of this seminar will be spent exploring all of the ins and outs of using Ancestry that you may not be aware of or have ever used. There are a lot of ways to research using ancestry that are not obvious to the researcher at first glance. The second hour will be spent exploring free research sites at the state, county and city government levels and how to access them. Every month there are more and more government entities that are digitizing their records and making them accessible online to researchers. These sites may give you some records and data that are not readily available elsewhere. Handouts will be provided, but also please bring a notebook and a pen or pencil so you can make as many notes as you might find useful.
Cost is $5.00 per person at the door. Please try to bring exact change if possible. Halfway through the presentation there will be a short break and snacks will be provided. Also during the break, there will be drawings for door prizes. There is a sign-up sheet at the library or you can email Richard Kyle directly at rkyle98902@charter.net to sign up. Please try to sign up by Monday the 14h of July so we know how many handouts to make and how much food to provide for the break.
